Right, then...

I posted earlier that I’m buying my in law’s 2000 Z3 that has been sitting dormant for a couple of years (save for occasional starting). I’ve already ordered about $1000 of parts, supplies and stuff ahead of my Presidents day weekend trip. The thought is to change all the fluids and refresh the cooling system (new radiator, water pump, thermo, hoses, etc...). Might even pull the wheels and get a new set of tires mounted before I load her onto the trailer for the ride home (while I’m confident in my abilities, there are some other cooling system parts that I’m going to have a professional replace - those that are buried underneath the intake manifold...something I don’t have the time or patience for, hence I’m towing it home ).

Wh y bother changing all that stuff ahead of time, of you're just going to trailer it home? Seems like it would make more sense to do all the work at home. I feel like I'm missing something.

Ah!  Yes.  Folks have much much more space to work than I do at home.

“Don’t even own the car yet, and already spending money”

Relatively standard Oppo behavior.
